Amanera has 24 Casitas and one two-bedroom Casa. The architecture makes outdoor living part of the room plan, with deep eaves, tall glass doors, and wooden finishes. A standard Casita has 77 square meters inside, alongside 159 square meters of terraces. Those outdoor areas divide into a shaded section for meals and lounging and an open sundeck.

Inside, a king bed, living area, and walk-in dressing room give a couple room to settle in. The bathroom has skylights, with the shower and WC kept separate. Ocean views are part of this category; a private swimming pool is not. The entry Casita therefore remains a sensible choice when your days will center on golf, outings, and the resort pools.

Hill Casitas bring a higher hillside position. Pool Casitas add a private swimming pool, while Bay View Pool Casitas and Ocean View Pool Casitas offer further choices of outlook. Each pool category pairs its outdoor space with shaded dining. For a longer stay, that terrace can be as important as the bedroom: somewhere to have lunch, read out of the sun, or spend an afternoon without returning to the main pavilion.

The Pool and Hill Duo Casita joins two units through an open-air breezeway. Each has its own king bedroom, living area, and bathroom, with a private heated pool forming part of the combined arrangement. It suits two couples or a family wanting separate sleeping areas. Parents of younger children should note the outdoor connection when deciding whether this layout fits their needs.

The Two-Bedroom Bay View Casa is a different proposition, with 244 square meters of living space and a 47-square-meter private pool. Its two king bedrooms and en suite bathrooms occupy separate freestanding pavilions. Shared indoor and outdoor living areas, terrace dining, and a kitchenette make it a useful option for a family gathering or an extended holiday. A personal host drives the Casa's private buggy around the resort. The layout allows everyone to gather for meals without sharing a single bedroom corridor.

Playa Grande Golf & Ocean Club is a central reason to choose Amanera. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the course, which Rees Jones later reworked. All 18 holes have ocean views, and ten run directly along the water, including the final five. The coastline is integral to the round, not simply a distant backdrop beyond the fairways.

Access to the private course is arranged on request and depends on availability. Confirm playing dates and any maintenance restrictions before making golf the fixed center of your itinerary. Instruction can also be arranged, so a stay need not depend on everyone traveling with the same level of experience. Non-golfers have the beach, spa, and local excursions within the same trip.

Casa Grande stands on cliffs about 60 feet above the shore. Open-sided dining areas and surrounding water features keep the restaurant connected to the coast. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with island-inspired cooking and seafood among the choices. The Library, Poolside, and Cigar Lounge can also host private dinners. Rum tastings and cigar-rolling demonstrations add a specifically Dominican element to an evening.

Down at the Beach Club, the mood is more casual. Its deck and lounging areas face a sandy cove, with lunch drawing on Latin flavors, seafood, and pizza from a stone-fired oven. The venue is reserved for resort guests. Evening barbecues and private chef-led dinners can be arranged separately. It is a useful change of scene during a longer stay, particularly after a morning near the water rather than at the golf course.

Amanera's spa occupies a clifftop setting, with treatments that draw on local plants and Dominican and Taino traditions. The menu includes massages, facials, scrubs, and wraps. Sessions can take place in beach pavilions or in your Casita, and an open-air wellness platform faces the ocean. Choose the location as well as the treatment if you prefer to remain close to your room.

Two outdoor resort pools give another option when you are not heading to the beach. Surfing and stand-up paddleboarding can be arranged, while Cabarete provides a destination for kitesurfing instruction. Let the day's sea conditions and your experience guide the choice. A guided kayak or paddleboard outing through the mangroves of Laguna Gri Gri offers a different view of this coast, away from the exposed breaks.

Guided walks make good use of the land behind the hotel. A 6.5-kilometer nature route climbs the ridge, descends through rainforest, and returns along Playa Grande; allow roughly two hours, with pace and conditions in mind. Horseback outings combine jungle and shoreline, while a coastal walking excursion starts in Rio San Juan. These are ways to see more than the view from a terrace without planning a separate touring holiday.

For families, activities include children's golf and tennis coaching on the resort's two Har-Tru clay courts. Beach Club cooking sessions can involve pizza-making or decorating cookies and cupcakes. The appeal is hands-on time with instructors and chefs, balanced with shared outings. Discuss suitable sessions and arrangements for your children's ages before arrival rather than assuming every activity runs daily.

Puerto Plata and Samana El Catey are the most practical nearby airport choices, with hotel transfer estimates of about 90 and 80 minutes respectively. Punta Cana is much farther away, at around four and a half hours by road. Amanera can arrange SUV or minivan transfers, as well as private helicopter travel. These are estimates, not fixed journey times; compare the arrival airport before booking flights. For this north-coast stay, the transfer and the right Casita deserve as much thought as the golf reservation.
