Royal Champagne Hotel

The Royal Champagne Hotel is a sleek and chic modern reimagination of a wine-country retreat in the heart of the Unesco World Heritage Site Champagne region. Skillfully redesigned from an original centuries-old coaching inn, a famed stopover for Napoleon Bonaparte, the hotel presents a sweeping ivory arc of 21st-century opulent accommodation.

Location

This elegant hotel has an ideal location overlooking the rolling vineyards of the Montagne de Reims, close to Epernay, the capital of the Champagne region. Charming villages lie beneath the terraces of Le Royal, notably Champillon and Hautvillers, where the early developer of Champagne, Benedictine monk Dom Perignon, is buried.

The main Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport is 90 minutes from the region. However, it is an easy and pleasant drive through the delightful countryside. Alternatively, train services run from Paris to Epernay. Valet parking for private cars is also provided at the hotel.

Style and Hospitality

The lobby sets the picture for the whole hotel with a magnificent crystal structure in a light-filled room. Crystal chandeliers, pendant light fittings, and glass adornments represent the bubbles. Additionally, the light quality of champagne wine blends in with blond woods and expansive windows. Guests are welcomed and attended to by friendly and competent staff in all areas of the hotel.

The feel conveys the joyful sensation of drinking this region's most famous export. Wall art adds to the impression by featuring panels etched with vine leaves, branches, flowers, and grapes.

The décor was created by Giovanni Pace, who also famously contributed to work at Moet & Chandon, current producers of Dom Perignon champagne. Local quartz, wood, and much glass typify his design style, evident throughout this hotel.

Features

A world-class destination spa and fitness facility, several classy restaurants, bars, a heated indoor pool, and an outdoor infinity swimming pool. The hotel also has several salons and terraces for business meetings or private events. The terraced gardens stretch down the valley to the vineyards providing a delicate setting for any occasion. Electric bikes are also on hire from the hotel.

Rooms

Le Royal Champagne Hotel has 47 luxurious and comfortable rooms with a terrace and views overlooking the vineyards and Champagne countryside. Deep beds are notable for their tremendous and soft linen. Décor is in the hotel-style pale gray and taupe colors, light woods, crystal, glass, and fine metalwork depicting bubbles and champagne images.

Plush sofas and flower-patterned fabric wallpapers add warmer tones to the rooms. Bathrooms are stylish and lavish with standalone tubs (some in the bedrooms with views outside). They also have rain showers and double vanities with travertine limestone basins. Besides, courtesy luxury toiletries are by Hermes.

In-room modern amenities include Illy coffee machines, fine teas, free internet, flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a mini-bar. You can take pets in most rooms by arrangement with the hotel (fee applies). The resort also has 2 handicap-accessible rooms.

Suites

These add more living space, classic French styling, handcrafted furnishings, and dining areas. They also include additional amenities plus exceptionally luxurious bathrooms. In addition, some have garden terraces, and others have beautiful views over the Champagne region.

Moreover, the different suites increase in spaciousness, with some having sofa beds suitable for families with young children. Guests can also order in-room gourmet dining. 24-hour room service is also available.

Gourmet Dining

The impressive culinary reputation of Le Royal Champagne Hotel rests on the sublime cuisine of renowned chef Jean-Denis Rieubland. He gained 2 Michelin stars at his former restaurant in Nice and has rapidly acquired one in Champagne. Restaurant Le Royal is also the title of his gastronomic restaurant. Combining farm-fresh local produce, an excellent pastry chef, and a knowledgeable sommelier with Chef Rieubland's great cookery make for Michelin-star fine dining.

Local game and beef dishes are specialties here. Moreover, the restaurant has plenty of space and dove-gray/white drapes. It also has light cognac/gray décor under the gold leaf and a lighting feature fashioned of huge glass bubble shapes.

Perfect tableware, impeccable staff, and 4 giant portraits of the women associated with Napoleon enhance the dining experience. Furthermore, the accompanying champagne list is as impressive as expected. You can buy it by the glass, along with other fine wines.

Casual Dining

Chef Rieubland's culinary influence continues into the more casual but less splendid brasserie, Le Bellevue. Tables are set under another striking feature of crystal pendants like a thousand suncatchers.

Frequently changing menus include the local specialty of Rheims ham flavored with parsley shallots, nutmeg, and fresh produce from the hotel gardens. Guests can also enjoy meals on the terrace, weather permitting.

The Bar

The Abysse Bar and Terrace, open for long hours, also sports a crystal chandelier and more Champagne or expertly mixed cocktails. Gourmet snacks accompany drinks; you can also take these on the outside terrace.

Le Royal Champagne Hotel Spa

Many guests come for this facility solely. The spa offers exclusive Biologique Recherche individually designed wellness therapies and state-of-the-art face and body treatments.

The tranquil spaces are enhanced by bubblier light and vine-inspired décor features by Giampato and Coombes. Before/after treatments, guests can enjoy a dip in the hot tub, infinity outdoor pool, or warm indoor pool. They can then relax on loungers facing the vineyards.

Active guests can visit the fitness center for Technogym exercise equipment. They can also have private/group lessons in yoga and other fitness programs.

Children

Kids are welcome at the hotel, with extra beds and cots provided on request. A babysitting service is also available.

Activities

You can arrange many activities via the hotel concierge services. These include visits to a Champagne house with history tours and tastings. Hot-air balloon rides over the region are another option. Or, buggy/electric car/bike/horseback rides around the famous vineyards and the Marne Valley. Boat trips through the UNESCO World Heritage region are another joy.

Takeaway

Tourists from all over the world, including the United States, visit this place. This beautiful and historic area offers much for visitors to see and do. Le Royal Champagne Hotel provides fine accommodation with relaxation and rejuvenation. It is also the perfect starting point for outdoor activities and sightseeing.
