Belmond Villa San Michele

Belmond Villa San Michele is on a hilltop in the Italian village of Fiesole. It's just a 15-minute drive from Florence. Fiesole is known for being a little calmer than the city below. The Villa is on the hillside above Florence, and it has beautiful views, cool breezes, and green landscaped terraces. The Belmond Villa San Michele has a facade that has a design attributed to Michelangelo.

The original Renaissance-style buildings have been restored, and now there are 46 luxurious rooms in the main monastery and the gardens and grounds around it. The grounds of this beautiful hotel are filled with Italian gardens, terraced gardens, trees, and flower gardens. An outdoor heated swimming pool is set on a large grassy area over the valley below. There is also a small gym with the same views.

Location

The location is perfect on a quiet hillside near Fiesole Hills, less than five miles north of Florence. It's a 20-minute drive to get to the main sights, though. However, there is a shuttle service, so it's easy. That's not to say that there aren't beautiful views from most rooms, restaurants, and pools in the hotel's gardens, most of which look out over the city's greatest cathedrals and galleries. It's also a lot cooler up there in the summer.

Rooms and Suites

There is a strong sense of Renaissance style in every part of this beautiful hotel. Villa San Michele is the best place to stay in Tuscany if you want to see Florence from a great distance. All 45 rooms and suites at this hotel are unique and designed to make you feel at ease. They range from sumptuous Double Rooms to Deluxe Suites.

It's possible to get help with everything from room service to business services to concierge and doorman at any time, day or night. Small seminars or board meetings can be held in two meeting rooms. They can also be used for social events. The Villa shows off its unique history through the decor, furniture, antiques, private gardens, terraces, and patios of the different guest rooms and suites.

Rooms have views of Florence and the Arno Valley below and the Villa's lush gardens or peaceful courtyards. All guest rooms have a full American breakfast buffet and free high-speed wireless Internet. There are also CD and DVD players and a widescreen HD TV, mini-bar, safe, work desk, and climate control. Some rooms and junior suites have extra features, like furniture from the 15th century.

Furthermore, all the bathrooms have Carrara marble and Cotto tile flooring. There is a separate bathtub, a walk-in shower, two sinks, and a private terrace or patio.

Dining

With the best ingredients in the best place, dining at this hotel is the best way to learn about the true magic of Italian food. Wild boar, lasagnette, and Tuscan wine are just a few of the unique and exciting dishes that gastronomes can enjoy while in Tuscany. From the 15th-century arches of Ristorante La Loggia to the modern twists on classic dishes, both tradition and modernity play a role in the food in Italy. In addition, the hotel is right next to Florence's most coveted view. The panoramic view is as beautiful as any painting in the Uffizi gallery.

The Bar

When people have an aperitivo, they come together. There isn't anything like it. This enchanting hour has been going on for a long time in Italy. At Belmond, the bartenders and chefs use their imaginations to make food and drink that go well together. The combinations pay homage to traditional flavors and ingredients worldwide, from signature cocktails to a carefully chosen bar menu. This is the best time of the day because it comes with breathtaking views and live music.

Ristorante La Loggia

The La Loggia Restaurant is where traditional Tuscan food has been reimagined and is respected. Executive Chef Alessandro Cozzolino makes sure his dishes are full of modern tweaks and unusual ingredients. The result is a taste that shoots you back to the past and forwards to the future simultaneously. It's a magical place to look at the city's lights at night. It's high up on top of the hills. La Loggia used to be a monastery, but now it's one of the most awesome Florence restaurants. Fine-dining meets art at La Loggia.

Ristorante Villa San Michele

As soon as you sit down and look out over the famous skyline of Florence, the experience starts. First, you can have a Fettunta appetizer, a Tuscan favorite. Then, taste a delicious crostini Toscani. The menu is full of food from the Slow Food Foundation, like Sorana beans, red onions from Certaldo, and raw milk pecorino from Maremma. Dining at this restaurant is a celebration of the best local ingredients. With each dish, they'll take you back to the source.

Pizzeria Villa San Michele

Make your way to the Italian gardens and find a cozy spot under the pergola. When you choose a pizza or steak from one set of menus, sit back and watch as the food is made right before your eyes! This is a great place to enjoy the ethereal beauty outside and eat simple but delicious food. It sits high on the hillside.

Bar Il Chiostrino

This glamorous, newly renovated bar is a great place to relax and enjoy some of the best cocktails in town. Ask the world's best bartenders for a classic Negroni or a refreshing Chartreuse Swizzle. The hotel's historic Cloister houses the bar. Here, soft curves, marble, brass, and leather blend with the elegance of the modern chic decor, like the gold-highlighted sofas with leopard-print cushions.

Cooking School

Expect the best foodie vacations at Villa San Michele. The Chef gives "hands-on" lessons, which means that you will be making, tasting, and cooking with him. Small classes mean that each student gets a lot of one-on-one attention. In just a few years, the culinary school in Italy has become known worldwide for its high standards. However, please make reservations in advance.

Fun Things to Do in Florence

The city of Florence has a lot of unique things to do. Adriano Pecoraro, the hotel's concierge, has a lot of fun ideas for something to do while you're there. So look forward to having the best vacation that Tuscany has to offer you soon.

Takeaway
