The word Eden inspires thoughts of an idyllic place where life and all worldly needs are taken care of without effort. The Eden Rome has become a byword for an idyllic hotel where every need is cared for by impeccably caring staff.
Now part of the Dorchester collection of global luxury accommodations, Hotel Eden has been restored and updated to its former matchless status in recent years.
History
Hotel Eden Rome is in Rome's affluent Ludovisi area, named after a wealthy Roman family of the same name. This family owned the land for centuries until they sold it for redevelopment. Later, in 1887 the hotel building was constructed, originally as residential property.
The Nistelweck family purchased the building, refurbished it, and opened it to guests as a luxury hotel in 1889. Afterward, it became instantly popular, especially with English visitors. It underwent many changes and upscaled until finally becoming part of the Dorchester Collection in 2013.
Location
The hotel benefits from a central position in the Eternal City. It sits conveniently for visitors between the exclusive Via Veneto and the lush Villa Borghese Gardens.
Famous sites such as the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon are nearby. Moreover, high-end shopping, Tony boutiques, and classy restaurants are around the hotel, the Piazza di Spagna and Campo Marzio.
A taxi or the Metro will take guests to the Colosseum, St Peter's Square, and the Vatican museums in under half an hour. Rome's two international airports, Fiumicino/da Vinci and Ciampino, are about a 30-minute drive.

New art comes via the 'artist in residence,' Andrea Ferolla, who visits twice monthly. She captures the life of the hotel in unique illustrations. Excellent facilities are also available for private dining, business meetings, or weddings.
The Rooms. Classic and Prestige
The 98 rooms and suites of the Eden Hotel Rome give a sense of light and freshness. All feature high ceilings and natural light from large elegantly draped windows. Besides, glass, marble, fresh flowers, and warm, gentle colors with the pristine white bed linen.
With a slight difference in size, both styles have contemporary but quintessentially Roman décor. Moreover, golden and cream tones predominate with lavish bathrooms in white marble and gold highlights.
Both offer modern in-room amenities, Bang Olufsen televisions, and huge, comfortable beds are standard. In addition, both types of rooms have city-view options.
The Suites: Junior, Classic, and Prestige
Junior suites are one-bedroom, open-plan with sitting areas and en-suite marbled bathrooms with complimentary Bottega Veneta toiletries. Circled by its gardens, the Eden is noted for its peacefulness amid the city's hum. This is especially true of the Classic suites. They include sitting/study areas, soothing décor, and fine art pieces depicting Roman and Florentine classical architecture.
Additionally, lavish bathrooms have deep tubs and separate showers. Besides, high windows reveal fine vistas of the city or garden in view suite options.
Prestige Suites are also popular with guests for space, light, and views from the high windows. Delicate fabrics, furnishings, and Italian art complete the picture.
Signature Suites. Dolce Vita, Aurora Terrace, Medici Presidential, and Bellavista Penthouse
These are apartment-type suites with many additional refinements. Dolce Vita extras include panoramic double views from high windows over the city, including the Victor Emmanuel monument and a great dressing room.

Fine Dining. La Terrazza and Giardino
Terrazza is the hotel's Michelin-starred restaurant with stunning views and sublime Mediterranean cuisine devised by Chef Fabio Ciervo using the finest local ingredients. Guest chefs assist with the heavenly sweet creations that follow the main courses.
Il Giardino Ristorante celebrates the Italian love of food, friendship, conversation, and scenery. Moreover, the restaurant offers delightful all-day rooftop dining with typical Italian menus and local seasonal produce.
The freshest pasta, salads, seafood, tasty pizzas, and special weekend menus are here. This is also a wonderful place to enjoy great breakfasts while enjoying a spectacular view of Rome. For drinks, the Giardino also has a bar for sunsets and sundowners.
