The Hotel El Palace Barcelona is only a few minutes away from the posh "Paseo de Gracia," the old "Barrio Gotico," and the world-famous "Las Ramblas," so it's close to all the things to do in Barcelona. But, some time ago, one of the most luxurious hotels in Barcelona was given a new lease on life.
Barcelona's art history is available here because it's close to the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas, and the Paseo de Gracia, which are all great places to see art. Salvador Dali and his wife Gala used to live in the Royal Suite, which is now called Art Suite. The most well-known hotel in Barcelona has been around for a hundred years.
There are marble colonnades and crystal chandeliers in the public areas of this high-end hotel. Moreover, each apartment has its unique style. Some have a mosaic-covered Roman style bathroom, while others are more modern. Guests can eat at the Caelis and 19/Nineteen restaurant and the Garden for a buffet breakfast. Marc Mallasen, the chef at the hotel, came up with the menu.
Some of the best Modernista architecture in the heart of Barcelona is just a short walking distance from the Palace. Likewise, it is a few blocks away from the Passeig de Gracia. Moreover, many of the city's more traditional attractions, like the Old City and the beach, are long away. However, taxis are very easy to get, and the metro and bus stations are close.
If you want to let in some fresh air, you can leave your windows closed. Other than that, the rooms are entirely soundproof. Modernist architecture, including Antoni Gaud's Sagrada Familia cathedral, is within a few blocks of the hotel.
You'll get an overwhelming sense of grandeur and decadence as you walk inside the hotel. The thick swirly carpets and opulent curtains wrapped with silk strands remind the hotel's previous life as a Ritz. Moreover, there are gilded clocks, hand-painted wallpaper, and Oriental vases in the' Halls, ' the bar, and the lobby area. Furthermore, in the breakfast room, there are colossal iron street lights. There are also Greek sculptures, a Berber tent enclosing the kitchen, and a tiny garden at one end.
This is the luxury hotel where Dali famously had a horse brought up to his room by an old-school concierge so that you could be sure of discrete and fast service. He can get your tickets to a Barça game, send a fax, and book your flight to the next leg of your journey. There is also a business center with three computers and a printer if you want to handle your own company. Moreover, six treatment rooms in the Mayan-themed spa below provide volcanic stone therapies, while the rooftop pool is long enough for a dip.
The 120 guest rooms at El Palace Barcelona have the most up-to-date tech. However, classic luxury is in each of these rooms' beautiful and old-fashioned designs. After the baroque extravagance of the public areas, the austere neo-classical lines are a welcome change, yet they nevertheless emanate a sense of refinement.
Also, overhead, a television in enormous gilded mirrors is under subtle flock wallpaper and large marble fireplaces in ivory and cream hues. All rooms come with complimentary water and amenities from L'Occitane. The Junior Suite is wholly adapted to the needs of guests with disabilities.
The Superior Suite with Roman baths is more expensive, but the mosaic bathrooms alone are worth the additional cost. Besides, the Ronnie Wood Suite has artwork by Ronnie Wood and a 1956 Wurlitzer console with a complete Rolling Stones song library on it.
Gourmet food is available at the restaurants and services at the El Palace Hotel. The things you do while you're here are one-of-a-kind. The Caelis restaurant is a hotel favorite, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Romain Fornell. The dessert "explosion," where the whole table is painted and showered with sweet pleasures, are some of the creative concoctions given in the dining room's somber surroundings.
The 19 Brasserie and the Winter Garden Restaurant on the rooftop are available for more relaxed hotel-type cuisine and tapas. Both are bars. Or, you may go to the cozy Bluesman bar below, which has a painting of the same name that manager Ronnie Wood's buddy produced and gifted.
Enjoy a wide variety of tapas and drinks while taking in some of Barcelona's best views. At the Jardin Diana Restaurant, guests are excited by a menu that combines gourmet items with local tastes and culinary traditions with new ideas and originality. Fall and spring have different deals.
This is the place to get a quick meal in the right mood. L'Éclair is a trendy restaurant that serves classic food with a modern twist. Every little thing is necessary. The food at l'Éclair is based on bistro gastronomy with a few French touches. The restaurant fits in with the city's spirit: having fun with Mediterranean goods and inventions. It also offers a beautiful afternoon tea.
At El Palace, the English heritage is solid. The only place in Barcelona where you can drink while listening to jazz or blues is the Bluesman Cocktail Bar.
Mayan Luxury Spa in Barcelona's El Palace GL is where the mind, body, and spirit come together. This spa experience will be one you will never forget. Thanks to the sounds and rituals of Mayan culture mixed with the exclusive French cosmetics brand Anne Semonin. Let the staff pamper you as you learn about the Mayan culture while they show you how to do things in the Temazcal sauna.
The El Palace Barcelona is the epitome of luxury and stateliness. There is a softer neo-classical flavor to the bedrooms, which are more restrained. With a wide range of dining and drinking choices, Bluesman cocktail bar and Caelis restaurant are popular with visitors and residents.
