History

L'Oscar London's history is just as fascinating as its future. Construction took place from 1901-1903 according to the "Edwardian Free Baroque" style. The building was used as the headquarters of the Baptist Church in London. Arthur Keen, an architect who mixed Renaissance style with Arts & Crafts influences, created much of the exterior and interior design. He worked with some of the most talented artists and artisans at the time.

Unfortunately, a bomb destroyed the fifth floor during World War II. As a result, the church's membership declined over time, with only 12 people attending the chapel on Sunday mornings. Soon afterward, it was closed to worshippers. London Transport bought the building before its revival in 2012. Skilled artisans beautifully restored many of its features.
