The Dorchester London Hotel welcomes its guests from around the world to a five-star hotel boasting an archetypal design in the heart of London. It symbolizes royalty and is the most preferred destination of several well-known celebrities.
Dorchester is a destination that symbolizes care, refinement, and anything that soothes your senses. As a result, its glamorous and top-tier quality facilities and designs have gathered many high society members. From Hollywood A-listers, royalty, pop stars, business people, and world leaders, the flock of renowned, wealthy clientele is ever-present.
Founded in 1931, the resort is a member of the Dorchester Collection, a five-star luxury hotel situated at 53 Park Lane in Mayfair, London. Being one of London's most recognized and applauded hotels, its services are far from just satisfactory.
Originally designed by Sir Owen Williams, the hotel bears most of the early 1900s decor and style. Through the years of modernization, The Dorchester still proudly retains those furnishings. This amplifies the exquisite designs and timeless glamour of the early 1900s decor in today's time.
The surrounding area provides only the most magnificent of views. The array of different sweet-smelling flowers and trees in the gardens circling the hotel's edge is the ideal spot for a relaxing stroll. To add to the repertoire of ample greenery, The Dorchester overlooks the stunning views of Hyde Park. It is also within walking distance from it, so nature is your friend here.
If the exterior view is blindingly beautiful, the interior might make you think you've died and gone to heaven. Upon entry, guests can expect smiles from top-hatted doormen. The pearly-hued marble walls and pillars stand on either side of the lobby, leading up to the white and gold concierge desk.
Nine floors in the hotel house 250 rooms and 49 suites, with over 100 overlooking Hyde Park. The rooms give off a sort of majestic aura. Each has king-sized four-poster beds, heavily draped with crisp linen sheets and rich timber furniture. Moreover, the walls have calming prints, with pink and cream hues reflecting beautifully with sunlight.
After Owen Williams of The Dorchester's initial designs, several other architects and interior designers refurbished the rooms. William Curtis Green and Oliver Messel, in particular, redesigned them. They modernized the decor and style while still retaining the 1930s style elements.
This inadvertently leads to each room having an amalgamation of styles, which happens to be a staple of classic British homes. Pieces by some of Britain's best artisans are also in each room and suite. Besides, this gives guests a top-class English feel at this stylish hotel.
The bathrooms, too, are just as impeccably opulent as the rooms they are in - chrome and white marble frame the expanse of the walls. Besides, the hotel's floristry team regularly replaces flowers to add extra color to the residence. The baths said to be the deepest in London, are carved from Italian marble in the Art Deco style. All rooms feature Wi-Fi.
The dining experience is, to put it mildly, sensational. The Dorchester is home to five of London's finest restaurants. These include the Grill, Alain Ducasse, The Promenade, China Tang, and The Spatisserie. It also has three bars, two of which are in The Promenade and China Tang.
With such diverse dining options, all kinds of appetites are sure to be satiated. Every meal is prepared and delivered perfectly, with 90 chefs slicing and dicing away in the kitchen and attentive servers.
A glamorous British restaurant with ornate brass chandeliers hanging from gold-toned ceilings. Also, the chairs are deep red, set with wooden tables and white linen cloths draped neatly over them.
The Grill serves a classic British menu, indulging guests in the savory goodness of authentic British cuisine. To make it even more memorable, the lights from the chandeliers reflect off the cream-colored walls. This bathes the room in a soft, golden glow that sets the right mood for dining.
Alain Ducasse, the wow factor at The Dorchester, is one of the United Kingdom's five 3 Michelin stars restaurants. However, unlike most locations in The Dorchester, the Alain Ducasse restaurant retained its antique furnishings. Moreover, this gives that somewhat Old World feel that oozes royalty and luxury.
The restaurant specializes in gourmet French cuisine using rich French ingredients. Additionally, it is in a muted, quiet atmosphere, so the food is sure to be the center of attraction.
A unique table for six, termed Table Lumière, surrounded by a white curtain, is there for guests who enjoy a little more privacy when dining on fine French meals.
The Promenade indulges guests in a long-standing English tradition — afternoon tea. Guests are seated in plush sofas with low tables in front of them. Furthermore, live piano music plays throughout the day to create an elegant, relaxing effect.
Light snacks and drinks are also here, leaving guests the perfect spot to dine and unwind. China Tang has an Art Deco style, much like the designs of early 1900s Shanghai. Also, it offers a rich Cantonese menu with refreshing cocktails to guests hungry for classic Chinese cuisine.
The Wine Vault is a contemporary space for sophisticated and exceptional wines. Besides, one thousand bottles anticipate your discovery under the expert instruction of our sommelier.
This secluded atmospheric hideaway is the conclusive destination for friendly smiles and outstanding service, where authentic and memorable royal classic drinks are served.
For proud drinkers who require nothing but perfection in their mix, the Bar is the perfect spot for indulging in any drink of choice.
From legendary Martini cocktails, recipe courtesy of Harry Craddock, to a post-dinner glass of Champagne, guests are free to drink to their fill. The kitchen also houses The Wine Vault, where thousands of bottles of top-shelf wine await to wow your taste buds.
If you thought the list of The Dorchester's endless services couldn't get any better, it just did. The black and silver patterned Spa reception doors reveal a spacious white-walled room. Stairs with steel railings lead down to an upholstered pink-colored sitting area.
A hair, manicure, and pedicure appointment are available for guests who want a quick, luxurious spa session. Other guests who wish for extensive care have a treatment menu with more than 20 power-packed facials, a steam room session, an aromatherapy session, and a massage.
Spa junkies are finally led to the relaxation room, where the white and dark blue tinted walls envelop the room, soothing your body and mind and revitalizing you from the inside out. But, of course, there's no harm in showing yourself a little love, and The Dorchester Spa is just the right spot to do that.
