Casa Cipriani New York is an exquisite New York hotel. It boasts a prime location, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere and attractions steps away. This establishment also captures the essence of old-world charm. It sets a new standard for opulent accommodation. Join us as we delve into the unique features, amenities, and services that make this hotel a gem in the concrete jungle.
Casa Cipriani New York offers members a place to relax and socialize. It sits in a historic waterfront setting. There are also several beautiful spaces in the Club. These include a traditional Cipriani Restaurant, Jazz Cafes, lounges, and club bars. There are also terraces and outdoor areas, and an elegant rooftop venue.
Moreover, all of these have views of the East River, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge. Casa Cipriani is also an true private members club. It offers live entertainment and curated art and cultural programs. There is also a wide range of other activities. This reflects Cipriani's reputation as delivering the best experiences.
Casa Cipriani New York is in Lower Manhattan, located on the water. It is in the Battery Maritime Building. This is one of the last Beaux-Arts-style Ferry Terminals of this century. The Battery Maritime Building is in the Financial District. It sits between the Staten Island Ferry Whitehall Terminal to the west and Downtown Manhattan Heliport to the east.
The hotel is at the southernmost tip of Manhattan. It's a perfect location in so many ways. The hotel is at the bottom of FDR Drive. This allows you to get into the city's heart in no time. You can also quickly loop on the West Side Highway if you are heading to the West Side. Besides, Brooklyn, the subway, ferries, and Lower Manhattan are all within easy reach.
Cipriani tapped living design legend Thierry Depont to supervise the restoration and transform the historic ferry terminal. Despont was, after all, the architect and designer hired for the renovation of the Statue of Liberty, completed in 1986. That project cost 60 million US-Dollars. Despont is also the architect and designer behind iconic hotels such as The Carlyle Hotel in NYC and The Ritz Paris. These were also renovated in 1986. The building and its history were in skillful hands.
Despont wanted to make guests feel like they were aboard a luxury vintage ocean liner. The hallway to your suite or room feels like the Queen Mary's or the SS Normandie, right down to the door's portholes and handrail. Moreover, the interior is all Art Deco. From the bar and restaurant in the lobby to the rooms. But the exterior hasn't changed at all. Indeed, the original Guastavino tiles are still on the roof of the front porch. This was his last building commission before he died in 1908.
From the first days of Harry's Bar in Venice, there was always a crowd from all views of life merrily sipping bellinis, chatting, and living the good life. This Cipriani property is where Cipriani heritage meets modern sense.
The hotel has 47 guest rooms and suites. These are all individually designed, combining Cipriani's elegance with nautical-inspired themes. The rooms also include lacquered furniture and Italian custom furnishings.
The fifth floor is where you will find the Club Restaurant. You'll also find the Club Bar and Living Room. The Living Room is the perfect place to meet other members and guests during the day. Moreover, Art Deco elements like the sconces, sleek sofas, credenzas, and tiled fireplace make for a lovely backdrop. It also extends to the Terrazzo Bar on top of the hotel.
The south-facing side of the hotel is the living room. On the north side, you will want to dine at The Club. You can also enjoy all your favorite Cipriani dishes. These include carpaccio or baked tagliolini, ham, and baby artichokes. Plus, there is also an incredible view of Brooklyn Bridge.
The restaurant extends to a large terrace with sweeping views of the East River. However, when you make your reservation, reserve a seat. Reservations tend to get filled up quickly, and you don't want them to go unfilled. The Club Bar will also feel like home if Harry's Bar is your favorite.
The Jazz Cafe is in between the Living Room and the Club. It faces the Promenade Bar on the riverside. It is a great place to grab a Sidecar while listening to Chet Baker. The Jazz Cafe is open Tuesday-Saturday evenings. It looks like an old-fashioned supper club from the 1930s.
Casa Cipriani Spa is a tranquil retreat to indulge in playful relaxation. It offers signature massages from hand-picked therapists. These include reflexology, stress recovery, and peace. You can also find additional beauty treatments and medical services in the specially designed-treatment rooms. Moreover, the men's and women's locker rooms offer steam and sauna.
The fitness center has panoramic views over the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge. There is also state-of-the-art equipment for cardio and strength training. Personal trainers can also design holistic wellness programs that maximize members' exercise and diet plans. Alongside the gym is a large studio perfect for yoga, Pilates, and meditation. The gym also offers cryotherapy and red light therapy to enhance performance.
All five suites and rooms are accessible to wheelchair users. It is also easy to identify which suites and rooms are accessible: The "accessible filter" under Rooms & Suites on the hotel's website makes it very clear. Moreover, the hotel has ADA-compliant bathtubs and door handles. Some counters and heights are suitable for people with disabilities. Grab bars at the bathtub and toilet are available. And the peephole offers a view of at least 180 degrees. The building also has elevators.
Nestled in the city's heart, Casa Cipriani New York offers a unique blend of old-fashioned charm and contemporary luxury.
