Edgewood Tahoe Resort

The lake, rather than the ski slopes, defines a stay at Edgewood Tahoe Resort. Set directly on Lake Tahoe's south shore in Stateline, Nevada, this luxury resort pairs a 154-room-and-suite lodge with 14 Villa Suites and an 18-hole golf course. The Sierra Nevada forms the backdrop, while South Lake Tahoe's restaurants, shops, and Heavenly Mountain Resort are close by. A heated lakefront pool, an 8,500-square-foot spa, and three restaurants give the property substance beyond its shoreline setting.

Edgewood takes its architectural cues from the large lodges of the American West, using stone, timber, and generous shared spaces. The Great Room is a natural meeting place before dinner or an outing. Some of its materials have a direct connection to the site: wood from Edgewood's former dock was reused in the stairway, and granite came from a nearby quarry. These details give the building a local character without turning it into a historical reconstruction.

The grounds bring together beach, fairways, and the lodge, so a day can stay close to the water even when no excursion is planned. At the same time, the Stateline location keeps the activity of the south shore within reach. It suits travelers who want restaurants and outdoor pursuits nearby, with their own lakeside base to return to.

Tahoe Rooms provide 500 square feet with either a king bed or two queen beds. A gas fireplace, terrace or balcony, soaking tub, and separate walk-in shower make them comfortable for stays beyond a weekend. A compact refrigerator and Nespresso machine are also provided. Resort-view and lakeview options are distinct, so the outlook deserves attention when selecting a room. Connecting rooms can be requested for families.

The Edgewood Suite doubles that area to 1,000 square feet. It has one king bedroom, a lakeview terrace or balcony with seating, and an additional guest bathroom. The extra living space is useful when one person wants to read by the fire while another rests, or when a couple prefers to spend part of the evening in rather than around the resort.

At 1,500 square feet, the Emerald Suite retains a one-bedroom layout but adds a more expansive seating area and outdoor terrace. Its lake outlook, gas fireplace, soaking tub, separate shower, and powder room make it a particularly generous choice for two. It is worth distinguishing this large suite from a multibedroom villa: the additional space is primarily for living, not extra sleeping rooms.

The Villa Suites sit beside the main lodge along the eighth and ninth fairways, with two-, three-, four-, and five-plus-bedroom configurations. The two-bedroom version covers 1,800 square feet and sleeps up to six in one king room and a room with two queen beds. Three-bedroom villas provide 2,200 square feet for up to eight. Both have living and dining areas, kitchens with a refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven, and heated private patios with a hot tub and fire pit.

The larger configurations have full kitchens with stovetops and ovens, an important distinction for families planning to cook. A four-bedroom villa offers 2,938 square feet and accommodates up to ten. The 4,100-square-foot five-plus-bedroom layout includes a den with a queen sofa bed and its own shower, with space for up to fourteen guests. Its patio also has an outdoor kitchen. These residences allow a group to gather around meals and still have separate rooms to withdraw to.

Edgewood's golf course predates the lodge. George Fazio designed it in 1968, with later work by Tom Fazio, and the property hosts the American Century Championship. The 18-hole course runs at more than 6,200 feet above sea level, with fairways framed by trees, mountains, and the lake. Its tournament history includes the 1985 US Senior Open.

Staying on the grounds lets golfers organize a round without a separate drive to the course. Lessons are available for players developing their technique, as well as those taking up the game. For companions who do not play, the spa, pool, and restaurants provide independent plans close to the lodge. A shared lunch can bring the day back together afterward.

The Bistro is the lodge's all-day restaurant, serving seasonal New American cooking for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. An open kitchen, rope detailing overhead, and stone flooring give the interior a relaxed mountain character. Its patio extends the room toward the water, while the bar provides another place to settle in for a drink.

The Edge Restaurant & Lounge takes a more formal approach to dinner, with tasting experiences, tableside presentations, and a wine collection of more than 1,000 labels. The lounge has its own menu and a less formal atmosphere than the main dining room. This makes it possible to choose between a longer, structured meal and drinks with a lighter selection of dishes.

Brooks' Bar & Deck overlooks the golf course and lake from the Clubhouse. Pub-style American food, cocktails, sports on television, and an outdoor patio make it a straightforward choice after a round or an active afternoon. Its casual approach gives families and groups an alternative to the more elaborate dining at The Edge.

Spa Edgewood includes six massage rooms and two rooms for facial treatments, within an 8,500-square-foot facility. Separate men's and women's steam rooms lead into a broader wellness experience with a shared relaxation lounge and an outdoor hot tub. The spa is for adults aged eighteen and over. Massages and facials can be planned around a day of walking, golf, or skiing, leaving enough time to use the facilities rather than arriving only for the appointment.

The heated outdoor pool is open throughout the year and faces Lake Tahoe. In warmer weather, the surrounding loungers, bookable cabanas, and poolside food and drinks make it a place to spend an afternoon. Beach access adds another choice beside the pool. Inside the lodge, the fitness center has free weights, resistance equipment, and cardio machines for guests who want to keep up a regular workout.

Heavenly Mountain Resort is nearby, but Edgewood is a lakeside base rather than a ski-in, ski-out hotel. Ski Butlers operates the resort's equipment rental and ski valet service, with fittings arranged in an accommodation or at the Adventure Center. This reduces the logistics of collecting and storing equipment while leaving the choice of mountain day to the guest.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport is approximately 56 miles away. Private airport transportation can be arranged through the resort; journey times depend on road and weather conditions. Once here, a car or driver is useful for exploring farther around the lake. Returning to a room with a fireplace gives a winter stay its own quieter counterpart to the slopes.

The lodge is LEED Silver certified. Edgewood also uses lake-sourced cooling and a filtration system that routes runoff through ponds and wetlands before it reaches Tahoe. These are specific measures tied to the water beside the hotel, alongside the reuse of local building materials. They are a relevant part of staying on this shoreline, where the landscape is both the reason for visiting and something the property needs to help protect.

What to Know About Edgewood Tahoe Resort

What is the best time of year to stay at Edgewood Tahoe?

The best time to stay at Edgewood Tahoe depends on the trip. Summer and early autumn are strongest for golf, lake views, hiking, boating, and outdoor dining. Winter is best for skiing at Heavenly, spa time, snow scenery, and a more alpine-lodge mood. Spring can be quieter and more variable, while autumn is often excellent for clear air, fewer crowds, and golf before the season changes. Edgewood is genuinely year-round because the resort has both warm-weather and winter strengths.

Is Edgewood Tahoe good for families?

Yes. Edgewood Tahoe can be very good for families, especially those who want lakefront space, larger accommodation options, year-round activities, pool time, and easy access to South Lake Tahoe. The Villa Suites are particularly useful for families who need multiple bedrooms. The resort still feels refined, so it is best for families who want a polished luxury base rather than a casual cabin rental or entertainment-heavy hotel. It works well for ski trips, summer lake holidays, and multigenerational stays.

Is Brooks' Bar & Deck at Edgewood Tahoe worth it?

Yes. Brooks' Bar & Deck is worth visiting for its lake, mountain, and golf-course views as much as for the food. It is one of the most relaxed and scenic dining spots at Edgewood, especially after golf or for a casual lunch. It is not meant to replace a formal fine-dining evening. Its appeal is Tahoe atmosphere: fresh air, fairway views, comfort food, drinks, and a setting that feels specific to Edgewood.

What restaurants are at Edgewood Tahoe?

Edgewood Tahoe's dining includes The Edge Restaurant & Lounge, The Bistro Edgewood, and Brooks' Bar & Deck. The Bistro is conveniently located in The Lodge, while Brooks' Bar & Deck overlooks the golf course, lake, and mountains with a polished gastropub feel. This mix gives guests useful variety. You can have a more refined dinner, a relaxed lodge meal, or a golf-course lunch with lake views without leaving the resort.

Does Edgewood Tahoe have a pool?

Yes. Edgewood Tahoe has a year-round pool and hot tub. This matters because Lake Tahoe weather changes dramatically by season, and having a heated resort pool setup gives guests a reliable way to relax even outside classic summer beach weather. The pool is best seen as part of the wider resort rhythm: lake views, spa, golf, skiing, dining, and downtime rather than a large waterpark-style pool experience.
