History

Chicago's famed Carbide & Carbon Building is an eminent symbol of Art Deco design and history on renowned Michigan Avenue, steps from the city's best shopping, dining, and cultural attractions. It is honoring an icon. The 1929 Carbon & Carbide building is a 37-story landmark structure located on Chicago's famed Michigan Avenue. Designed by the Burnham Brothers (sons of renowned American architect Daniel Burnham) as the regional office of Union Carbide and Carbon Co., the Art Deco style building was designated a Chicago Landmark in 1996. Revered for its unique shape, reminiscent of a vintage green champagne bottle reportedly symbolizing a response to the Prohibition era, the structure's high-reaching tower façade, made of dark green terra cotta with gold leaf accents, sits atop a street-facing base of polished black granite, black marble and bronze trim. Pendry Chicago brings a modern-day alludes to the building's storied history with all-new interiors and luxury amenities that comingle carefully with an appreciation for its Art Deco style and heritage.

Venteux - Where a distinct, Parisian-inspired setting comingles with the sparkling charm of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, Venteux ("windy" in French) is a French brasserie oyster & champagne bar and café. All brought to life by the city's youngest Michelin-starred talent, Chef Donald Young. A glowing brasserie anchors a space lit from within with cozy banquettes, indoor and outdoor café style seating, stunning 40-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, and an intimate private dining room for special celebrations. Young's modern and skilled take on Nouvelle French cuisine anchors a fresh raw bar, robust wine program, and spirited champagne menu.

Bar Pendry - Pendry Chicago is home to Bar Pendry, a rich, moody space anchored by a central fireplace that welcomes guests for evening cocktails, an elevated menu of small bites, and late-night libations.

Château Carbide - Sky high. Welcome to the 24th floor, where an al fresco rooftop space plays host to outstanding skyline views, indoor and outdoor seating, and a pop-up bar (rosé is the unique seasonal sip du jour) with light bites, cocktails, and a one-of-a-kind, airy atmosphere. Open from April through August.

The Billiard Gallery

A tucked-away nook for billiards, cocktails, and conversation. The Billiard Gallery is adjacent to the hotel's lobby and restaurant, with a streetside view of Michigan Avenue.
